Work Experience

My jobs in my youth (from the age of 13 years until graduation at 25 years) I had a number of jobs in parallel with school and education. These jobs were defining my capabilities despite my physical challenges, and these jobs had impact for my choice of education and career. Hence, these jobs have been included: 1. sales assistant in a bakery, Bistrup, DK and grocery shop Tisvilde, DK; 2. Canteen assistant in “Vejdirektoratets” canteen, Copenhagen, DK; 3. Cleaning assistent in a private engineer company, ISS and Gentofte hospital; 4. Pharmacist student at Hamlets Apotek, Copenhagen, DK; and 5. Domestic helper in Holte/Søllerød, DK.

1990-1993 Graduated from Marie Kruses Skole (High School, Level A in Maths and Chemistry), Farum, DK.

More about me and my vision..

When I was young during my education, I felt the absence of persons in a similar situation as myself being ambitious telling me, “You can handle it” or “Give it a try” without making me a problem in the system. Nevertheless, I decided to follow my goals, and have since gained invaluable experiences both professionally and in my personal life. It has been challenging and given me bumps on the way, however my pro-active and positive mind-set has made the journey possible. It has been necessary for me to use alternative ways to reach my goals. It has been challenging at times and has given me a hard time, but my proactive and positive mindset has carried my far.

I have often chosen alternative paths, and had to finance solutions myself, because the traditional options put too many barriers in the way. Today I am grateful for those choices, because they gave me the opportunity to do what made me happy and fulfilled.

My hope is to inspire others with physical challenges to see work and education as a real and meaningful opportunity.

…and a little more about me: In my freetime, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, sports, nature and traveling. I am a big consumer of news and good journalism, and I like to follow political debates. In addition I enjoy both fine and professional literature, music, culture and art- especially the aesthetic expression.

Christina Aamand-Jørgensen (CJrg) started her career in Novo Nordisk in 2002, firstly in Global Development until the end of 2007 and in January 2008 she joined my area Global Medical Affairs. Christina started as Global Medical Advisor for Devices, where she was responsible for medical devices in development (PDS253/265 pump projects) and marketed devices (Next Generation FlexPen® and NovoFine®). From 2011 to 2015 Christina was the medical anchor as Sr. Global Scientific Advisor on the marketed insulin products NovoRapid®, NovoMix® and Levemir®.

An important part of Christina’s role was to build strong relationships; internally to secure successful collaboration with stakeholders such as Marketing, Market Access, Global Development, Clinical Operations, Global Safety, Communications and Regulatory Affairs. Externally, Christina’s role was to be a liaison between Novo Nordisk and the scientific community to ensure good and consistent relationships with KOLs and HCPs within diabetes and devices.

Throughout the years in Global Medical Affairs Christina demonstrated dedication, drive and a strong ability to reach agreed goals. Christina is a capable decision maker with excellent collaboration skills always eager to find the best solution with all relevant stakeholders in mind. Christina has an open minded, curious and visionary mind-set and she always delivers on time and with high quality. Christina’s vast experience from Global Development and her deep understanding of Clinical Trials and Project Management methodology was an important asset when working in Global Medical Affairs where part of Christina’s job was to work with Global Development on different clinical trials to maximise outcomes based on solid processes.

You can always count on Christina when assigning tasks based on her strong combined experience from both Global Development and the internationally oriented Global Medical Affairs organisation. In addition, Christina benefits from a large network generated through her work with many internal and external stakeholders. Christina has a solid understanding of the Novo Nordisk business and the products on the market and in development. I have known Christina Aamand-Jørgensen since 2014, both privately and as a former work colleague at Novo Nordisk, where she worked as Senior Global Scientific Advisor, and I was employed as Global Medical Advisor. Christina and I were both members of a team working with life cycle management of insulin products. In that capacity, I consistently experienced Christina as a dedicated colleague whose deep organizational understanding and pragmatic approach to work made her an effective and proactive partner to ours and many other parts of the organization. I have had the pleasure of having Christina Aamund Jørgensen working in Clinical Research, Device Projects at Novo Nordisk A/S, Denmark.

Christina fulfilled a position as Clinical Development Scientist, Clinical Research, Device Projects, where she was responsible for managing, co-ordinating the initiation and execution of several clinical trials. Christina was the main driver and coordinator of the operational part of the clinical trials, managing CRO contract, contacts, project progress, protocol writing, actual trial start up and monitoring.

Christina was very dedicated to her job and always met very ambitious timelines and key deliverables. Christina was also responsible for Usability tests with different kind of medical devices in accordance with the FDA requirements and guidance document.
